My house was built in the 1970s. We have only had it a couple months but just discovered tonight that the non-working toilet in the basement flows it’s waste directly into the unsealed sump pump trap. GROSS! Is that legal? Or do we need to seal the trap?
looks like it comes out the same waste pipe the laundry waste water comes out of. They must have tapped into the same waste line and everything from the basement flows through the Propecia buy cheap same waste pipe, so I can’t plug it up or I can’t do laundry.

you do not just seal the trap,, you need to find and fix the break that is letting that sewage get where its at!! its disgusting and life threatening..
illegal? depends on your areas codes,,
Not good or code approved. It should go into a sealed reservoir with a sewage sludge pump.
Its proably something somebody did to get away with putting a toilet in the basement cheaply..lol I assume it’s closer to the sump than the main waste stack?..No matter. To rid your self of it. Just remove the toilet.Stuff some insulation or such down the pipe.Leave like 3 or 4 inches and fill that with mortar to seal the pipe.
