Are lawyer’s legal fees tax deductible for family law?

I am wondering if lawyers fees are tax deductible for child custody cases. The divorce was in 1998 but we have had to go back for other reasons for schooling & etc. Are those fees paid deductible? Thanks for any help.

I believe they are deductible for adoptions only.
The fees are non-deductible personal expenses.
